The Parhelion Trio –flutist Sarah Carrier, clarinetist Ashleé Miller, and pianist Andrea Christie– will present SoundSkrapes, a virtuosic contemporary music program exploring the ensemble’s extensive array of sound colors, acoustically and electronically.  The program features recent works by JacobTV, Guillaume Connesson, Daniel Felsenfeld, and Sunny Knable.  The Parhelion Trio will also partner with tango dancers Jack Hanley and Nan Min for two classic works by Astor Piazzolla and will include a special narration by composer Sunny Knable.

The Parhelion Trio is a New York City based, all-female ensemble that is dedicated to bridging the gap between composer and performer.  Parhelion incorporates original compositions and commissions that uncover the combination’s creative potential while transcending the classical music taboo with innovative programs that embrace all musical genres.  The resulting effect is a vibrant atmosphere rich with lyric poignancy and rhythmic vitality that is compelling to a variety of audiences.  Parhelion was formed in 2010 at the Institute for Contemporary Performance at Mannes College The New School for Music.
