Face the Music starts its four concert series at The Firehouse Space with a program featuring two talented string quartets. These quartets, Pannonia Quartet and Quartet:This SideUP are coached by Kronos Quartet, through Face the Music’s “Kronos at Kaufman” program, a residency that is now in its second year. Quartet:This SideUP will perform a program by three Face the Music student composer-performers: “String Quartet no. 2” by Paris Lavidis; “Playing Cards” by Amelia Krinke written for string quartet and percussion; and “240 for String Quintet” by Zachary Detrick written for string quartet and piano. Pannonia Quartet will perform its namesake: “Pannonia Boundless” by Aleksandra Vrebalov. Also on this concert are special guest performers from Kaufman Music Center’s Special Music School High School, performing “Narayana’s Cow’s” by Tom Johnson.
