SOS  is a collective that features telepathic spiritual music communication by players who have developed playing relationships over the course of many concerts since 1999.Improvised music that would appear to be memorized and rehearsed for weeks its spontaneous composition with lots of Heart and soul.

Michael “TA” Thompson: Drums
Chris Forbes is a pianist and composer who has been active on the New York free jazz scene since 2003. He has played with musicians such as Sabir Mateen, Daniel Carter, Matt Lavelle, Ras Moshe, Will Connell and Steve Swell. He is a member of Steve Swell’s Nation of We and the Steve Swell Quartet, with whom he appeared at the 2012 Vision Festival last June. He is also a member Matt Lavelle’s Morcilla and appears on the group’s CD The Manifestation Drama He is a frequent guest in Ras Moshe’s Music Now ensembles as well as Will Connel’s Adam Antine Project. He has recently premiered his Quezalcoatl project with singer Maryanne De Prophetis and Trumpeter Ron Horton. Forbes is also an accomplished concert music composer, with several orchestral pieces, a ballet and a music theater piece under his belt. He is also a full time music teaching artist with the “Life Lines” Community Arts Project in Sunset Park Brooklyn.

Back from a tour of Sweden and headlining at the UMEA Jazz Festival,the Blessing is a quartet led by Matt Lavelle to process the influence on him from spending time with Ornette Coleman.Ras Moshe on Tenor,Soprano,and Alto and Francois Grillot on bass have been playing with Matt as far back as 1993.The great David Miller on drums.

“I spent 20 years looking for my music,and OC really helped me get to the point so to speak.This project might be more in than out,but it’s all me.Since It’s Valentines day I will mos def play some ballads about the trials,tribulations,and intimacy that come with the holy force of LOVE.”

The ever tenacious brother G returns to lead his quartet with Matt Lavelle on Flugelhorn and Alto Clarinet,Francois Grillot on Bass,and David Miller on drums.Giuseppi Logan shocked the Jazz world a few years ago by proving that he still exists.After becoming somewhat of a legend and a mystery based on his ESP record in the 60′s,Giuseppi resurfaced in NYC and made a comeback record for Tompkins Square records.Giuseppi continues to have his own very personal way of writing and playing and has a story to tell unlike any other.Jazz as real as it gets. . . . .
