The Drewes/Clarke/Galaganov Trio members have been meeting regularly with other musicians striving to make music of the moment and explore together in a free and open environment. The focus of this trio not only considers melodic, rhythmic and harmonic concepts, and a strong foundation in music tradition but looks to delve into the subjects that arise including emotion, humor, irony, humility, and the physical nature of sound. Leonid Galaganov is a percussionist from Estonia where he studied drums and tabla with Brian Melvin, as well as orchestral conducting at Tallinn University. He has performed in Europe, South America and the US, including SXSW, and has recorded on many albums in Estonia and in NYC. Currently a jazz major at NYU, Galaganov studies with Tony Moreno and Ralph Alessi.

Billy Drewes has been performing since the mid 70′s, touring and recording with artists such as Paul Motian, Herbie Hancock, Joe Lavano, Eddie Gomez, John Scofield, Fred Hersch, Tony Bennet to name just a few! In 1990, he joined the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra and today plays in the legendary Village Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. An established educator, Billy takes part in masterclasses and seminars around the world. He is constantly at the forefront of creative expression and will undoubtedly push the envelope for years to come.

Zarchary Clarke received his Bachelors of Music from the New England Conservatory, where he studied privately with Fred Hersch, Jason Moran, and Danilo Perez. He has performed in numerous venues and festivals in the US and Europe. His recent works include the electronic album, Music for Headphones (2012), and Dialectic (2014), an album that juxtaposes the movements of Bach’s 3rd improvisations on piano and cello.
