Trumpeter-composer Arthur Brooks is one of the unsung heroes of the new music. In his 40+ year career he has collaborated with such legendary figures as Bill Dixon, Cecil Taylor, Sonny Sharrock, Alan Silva, and Frank Wright. For over 20 years he taught alongside Dixon in the Black Music Division at Bennington College. Vinyl copies of Brooks’s classic 70s album “Nightcaller” will be available at this performance.

EHRAN ELISHA’S EYETONE
Percussionist-composer Ehran Elisha has been leading ensembles and recording albums in his native New York and abroad for over 25 years. He has created new music with musicians such as Roy Campbell, Daniel Carter, Wilber Morris, Bill Lowe, Ken Filiano, David Bindman, Bill Dixon and his father, composer-pianist-conductor Haim Elisha. He has led longtime bands Kinetic Music (a quintet or sextet) and Kinetic Drums (a percussion quintet) among his other groups, and has released seven prior recordings as leader to date.This performance will celebrate the release of Elisha’s newest project “Kindred Spirit” on the OutNow Recordings label.
