CD Release Party! “Night Guitar” by Anders Nilsson
Eclectic guitarist/composer Anders Nilsson has released a solo album on SoundatOne Records – a layered, compositional, loop-less electric guitar album often cinematic in mood, tone and structure named “Night Guitar”. In the liner notes he says “my desire is to create an atmosphere and a tension, which trigger the individual mind to create its own storyline.” Come party and experience all of this:

-solo versions of the pieces on the album played on electric guitar and 11-string alto guitar,
-the screening of the film “Fleets cove” by Arrien Zinghini set to one of the pieces on the album,
-the premier of “Pick-up” – a piece for electric guitar, theremin – Michael Evans & chimes – David Nuss, inspired by Charles Willeford’s brutal 50′s novel by that name,
-a guitar duo piece or two played with Aaron Dugan (aka “Hot & Cold”)
-an experimental work involving improvisation based on a new Arrien Zinghini short film!!!!!

Quotes on Night Guitar: “In the pieces I’ve heard from Night Guitar, Anders Nilsson has managed to find something truly original left in the much pillaged vaults of country blues guitar- something of the ghosts that have haunted it since the beginning. Think Blind Willie Johnson meets Bernard Hermann. Excellent stuff.” - Marc Ribot

“Anders Nilsson has fashioned a set of beautifully mysterious guitar music that seamlessly blends a wide range of influences into a unique sound: brooding, dramatic, and filled with surprises.”- Elliot Sharp

“This album is a expert mix of free and well established blues forms, replete with contrasts between darkness and light. It all helps paint a picture that is subdued at times and screaming at others. These songs, soundscapes really, are gateways to the introspection and stark reflections that can be encouraged by the quiet of the night.” -Paul Acquaro
